Influence of Fertilization and Mycorrhizae on the Nutritional Status of Rhododendron (Rhododendron hybridum) in a Nursery

Background: This study of the large-flowered azalea cv. ‘Anneke’ investigated impact two factors, i.e., methods fertilization and mycorrhization, on nutritional status plants during three years nursery cultivation. Methods: Single mineral fertilizers, a slow-release fertilizer Hortiform pH (SRF), fertigation in combination with mycorrhization plants, were applied. Plant roots inoculated fungi from genera Oidiodendron Hymenoscyphus sp. The first cultivation was assessed based macroelements. Results: analyses revealed significantly higher content nitrogen, phosphorus calcium leaves fungal mycelium. A beneficial effect plant status, levels phosphorus, potassium, calcium, magnesium, noted second third Conclusions: Significant amounts nutrients utilized middle growing season almost fully after season. Hence, necessity to supplement each subsequent year vegetation postulated. Fertigation shown require further improvement nutrient solution.
